President Zardari felicitates UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham on assuming office

Islamabad, July 20:President Asif Ali Zardari has congratulated Andy Burnham on assuming office as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, conveying his best wishes for a successful tenure. The President expressed confidence that under Prime Minister Burnham’s leadership, Pakistan and the United Kingdom would further strengthen their longstanding friendship and expand cooperation in areas of shared interest.

President Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue, diplomacy and the peaceful resolution of disputes, emphasizing the country’s continued efforts to promote regional and global peace. Referring to the ongoing tensions in the Gulf region, he expressed hope that the United Kingdom would play a constructive role in supporting de-escalation, encouraging a ceasefire and advancing diplomatic efforts in line with the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

The President also expressed his eagerness to work closely with Prime Minister Burnham to further deepen the enduring partnership between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
