PM Shehbaz Appreciates SAARC Secretary General’s Role in Advancing Regional Cooperation

Islamabad, July 15: Secretary General of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), H.E. Ambassador Md. Golam Sarwar, paid a farewell call on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended Ambassador Sarwar’s dedicated service and leadership in promoting regional cooperation throughout his tenure as SAARC Secretary General. Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the SAARC Charter, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to revitalize the regional organization to strengthen connectivity, foster sustainable development, and enhance the shared prosperity of South Asian nations. The Prime Minister also conveyed his best wishes to Ambassador Sarwar for success in his future endeavors and appreciated his contributions to advancing the objectives of SAARC.

Ambassador Md. Golam Sarwar expressed gratitude to the Government of Pakistan for its continued support and cooperation during his tenure as the head of the regional organization, while reaffirming the importance of strengthening regional collaboration for the collective benefit of South Asia.
