Pakistan, US celebrate cultural partnership with Liberty Bell exhibition

Islamabad, July 23:Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Aurangzeb Khan Khichi and U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Andy Halus jointly inaugurated the “Let Freedom Ring” American Liberty Bell display at the Lok Virsa Heritage Museum, highlighting the longstanding cultural partnership between Pakistan and the United States.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the minister congratulated the American people on the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Declaration of Independence and conveyed Pakistan’s best wishes on the historic occasion. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening cultural cooperation with the United States, emphasizing that people-to-people exchanges and cultural diplomacy remain key pillars of bilateral relations.

Aurangzeb Khan Khichi said Pakistan and the United States share common values of constitutional democracy, individual liberty and opportunity. He noted that the exhibition showcased the rich cultural and artistic heritage of both nations while reflecting the enduring friendship between them.

The minister also praised the creativity of 16 Pakistani artists who transformed replicas of the iconic American Liberty Bell into unique works of art, describing their contributions as a powerful example of how art transcends borders and brings people together.

He further highlighted the role of the Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation and appreciated the continued collaboration between the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture and the U.S. Mission in promoting heritage conservation and expanding cultural ties between the two countries.
