ICCI Hosts Seminar to Boost Pakistan–Netherlands Trade and Investment

Islamabad, July 21:The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) hosted a seminar titled “Enhancing Bilateral Trade between Pakistan and the Kingdom of the Netherlands”, bringing together business leaders, entrepreneurs and stakeholders to explore new avenues for expanding bilateral trade, investment and economic cooperation.

Addressing the participants, ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood said the Netherlands, as one of Europe’s leading centres for trade, logistics, agriculture, innovation, renewable energy and advanced manufacturing, offers significant opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships with Pakistan. He noted that the two countries enjoy longstanding friendly relations and stressed the need to unlock untapped trade potential through greater collaboration in technology transfer, innovation, value addition and joint ventures.

Highlighting Pakistan’s strategic advantages, he pointed to its market of over 240 million people, youthful workforce, expanding IT sector, competitive manufacturing industry and strong agricultural base as key attractions for Dutch investors. He identified agriculture, agri-technology, horticulture, dairy, food processing, value-added textiles, renewable energy, healthcare, education, logistics and water resource management as priority sectors for future cooperation.

The seminar concluded with an interactive discussion focusing on expanding market access, strengthening institutional linkages, facilitating investment and enhancing regulatory cooperation to further deepen Pakistan–Netherlands economic ties.
