Chinese Ambassador, Prime Minister reaffirm commitment to deepening Pakistan-China partnership
Islamabad, July 27:Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership and advancing bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal, Adviser to the Prime Minister Dr. Syed Tauqir Shah and Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his warm greetings to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, while recalling his visit to China in May this year. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the enduring friendship between the two countries and stressed that both sides would continue implementing the important decisions and agreements reached by their leadership for the shared prosperity of their peoples.
The two sides also exchanged views on the evolving regional situation, including developments in the Middle East, Afghanistan and South Asia, underscoring the importance of close consultation on regional and international issues.
Ambassador Jiang Zaidong reaffirmed China’s steadfast support for Pakistan, describing the country as China’s “iron brother.” He reiterated Beijing’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and socio-economic development while further expanding cooperation under the longstanding strategic partnership.
