UNIDO-ITPO Bahrain, FPCCI Strengthen Partnership to Promote SMEs and Investment

Islamabad, July 6: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization’s Investment and Technology Promotion Office (UNIDO-ITPO), Bahrain, have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation for the development of Pakistan’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs), entrepreneurship and private sector growth.

Welcoming the visit of Dr. Hashim Hussain, Head of UNIDO-ITPO Bahrain, FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to creating greater economic opportunities through innovation, investment, technology transfer and vocational training. He emphasized that FPCCI values its partnership with international organizations in supporting sustainable economic development, particularly by empowering women and young entrepreneurs through capacity building and global networking.

During his three-day visit to Karachi, Dr. Hussain held detailed discussions with FPCCI Senior Vice President Saquib Fayyaz Magoon on expanding cooperation in SME development, investment promotion, access to finance, technical and vocational education, and entrepreneurship initiatives. Senior officials from the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) also attended the meetings, exploring ways to strengthen institutional collaboration among FPCCI, TDAP and UNIDO-ITPO Bahrain to enhance Pakistan’s business ecosystem and attract greater investment.
