Prime Minister reaffirms Pakistan’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia

Islamabad, July 23:Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kingdom following recent attacks on Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea.

During the conversation, the Prime Minister strongly condemned the attacks carried out by the Houthi militia, describing them as unacceptable acts that violate international law, threaten freedom of navigation and commercial shipping, and endanger regional peace, security and stability. He stressed that such actions undermine the safe passage of maritime trade and pose serious risks to international commerce.

Shehbaz Sharif expressed Pakistan’s complete solidarity with the Saudi leadership and people, stating that the Government of Pakistan, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and the entire nation stand firmly with the Kingdom during this challenging period. He reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to Saudi Arabia’s security, sovereignty, territorial integrity and prosperity.

The Prime Minister also assured the Crown Prince that Pakistan would continue to work closely with Saudi Arabia and the international community to promote peace, safeguard maritime security and ensure the uninterrupted flow of lawful commercial shipping in the Red Sea, the Strait of Hormuz and the wider region.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman appreciated Pakistan’s consistent support and the longstanding brotherly relations between the two countries. Prime Minister Shehbaz also conveyed his warm regards and best wishes to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
