Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan Reaffirm Commitment to Strategic Partnership

Islamabad, July 7: Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan have reaffirmed their shared commitment to elevating bilateral relations by establishing a strategic partnership, with a renewed focus on expanding trade, investment, and economic cooperation.

The commitment was expressed during a meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov in Cholpon-Ata.

According to a joint statement issued after the talks, both leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening economic ties by promoting direct engagement between the business communities of the two countries. They agreed to facilitate closer cooperation among chambers of commerce and industry, investment promotion agencies, banking and financial institutions, while encouraging joint ventures and collaborative investment projects.

As part of the visit, the two sides also signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic and Pakistan’s Drug Regulatory Authority to enhance cooperation in the health and pharmaceutical sectors.

Following the meeting, President Japarov hosted an official reception in honour of President Zardari. The Pakistani president was accompanied by a high-level delegation, reflecting both countries’ commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation and exploring new avenues for mutually beneficial partnerships.
