Pakistan declares national mourning over demise of former Qatari Amir

Islamabad, July 13: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has declared a day of national mourning on 13 July following the demise of Qatar’s former Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. According to an official notification, the decision was taken to express the solidarity of the Government and people of Pakistan with Qatar’s royal family, government and citizens during this period of grief. As part of the observance, the national flag will fly at half-mast across the country. Pakistan reaffirmed its longstanding brotherly ties with Qatar and extended heartfelt condolences to the Qatari leadership and people.
