Field Marshal Asim Munir highlights reforms to strengthen Pakistan’s investment climate
Islamabad, July 27:Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to advancing structural reforms aimed at creating a more business-friendly environment and attracting greater foreign investment.
The remarks were made during a meeting in Rawalpindi with members of the United States House of Representatives, Congressman Ryan Keith Zinke of Montana and Congressman Michael James of Washington. The discussions covered matters of mutual interest, regional security, bilateral defence cooperation and opportunities to deepen economic collaboration between Pakistan and the United States.
Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted Pakistan’s significant economic potential, stressing that long-term regional peace and stability depend on sustained economic growth, expanded trade and enhanced regional connectivity. He noted that the government’s reform agenda is designed to improve the investment climate and encourage stronger international business engagement.
The visiting lawmakers acknowledged Pakistan’s important contribution to regional stability and its growing economic resilience. Both sides also explored prospects for expanding bilateral trade, promoting private sector partnerships and strengthening institutional cooperation to unlock new avenues of economic engagement.
The US delegation expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the military leadership and reaffirmed its commitment to fostering stronger economic, commercial and strategic ties between the United States and Pakistan, reflecting the shared interest of both countries in broadening long-term bilateral cooperation.
