Pakistan, Russia Vow to Expand Cooperation in Trade, Energy and Connectivity

Islamabad, July 22:Pakistan and Russia have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation in trade, energy, connectivity, and other areas of mutual interest while enhancing coordination at regional and international forums.

The understanding was reached during a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the sidelines of the 33rd ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Ministerial Meeting on Wednesday. The two leaders reviewed the current state of Pakistan–Russia relations and expressed satisfaction over the growing momentum in bilateral engagement.

They underscored the importance of sustained high-level exchanges to further strengthen the strategic partnership and unlock new avenues of economic and commercial cooperation. Discussions also covered regional and global developments, with both sides exchanging views on issues of mutual concern.

The two foreign ministers agreed to maintain close contact and continue working together to promote regional stability, strengthen economic ties, and advance shared interests through enhanced diplomatic cooperation.
