Venezuela Praises Pakistan’s Commitment to Peace and Diplomacy
Islamabad, July 20:Venezuela has commended Pakistan’s commitment to peace, dialogue, and diplomacy, with its newly appointed Minister of Foreign Relations and Foreign Trade, Félix Plasencia, acknowledging Islamabad’s constructive role in promoting de-escalation during recent regional tensions involving the United States and Iran.
The appreciation came during a telephone conversation between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and his Venezuelan counterpart, according to a statement issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Office on Sunday.
During the call, Senator Dar congratulated Plasencia on his appointment and conveyed Pakistan’s heartfelt condolences over the recent devastating earthquakes in Venezuela. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the government and people of Venezuela, expressing confidence in the country’s resilience and swift recovery from the disaster.
Plasencia thanked Pakistan for its message of sympathy and humanitarian support, describing it as a reflection of the strong spirit of international solidarity during difficult times. He also appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to encourage dialogue and peaceful engagement in addressing regional challenges, recognizing the country’s consistent advocacy for diplomacy and conflict resolution.
The two foreign ministers reviewed the longstanding friendly relations between Pakistan and Venezuela and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation. They discussed expanding collaboration in trade, investment, business, agriculture, information technology, and other sectors of mutual interest, emphasizing the untapped potential for stronger economic partnerships and enhanced people-to-people exchanges.
Senator Dar underscored the importance of sustained high-level engagement to deepen bilateral ties and create new avenues of cooperation. Both sides also expressed satisfaction with the close coordination between Pakistan and Venezuela at multilateral forums and reiterated their commitment to working together on regional and international issues of shared concern.
