IT Minister Shaza Fatima, UN Chief Discuss AI Governance and Global Cooperation

Islamabad, July 8: Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja met António Guterres in Geneva on the sidelines of the Global Dialogue on AI Governance to discuss emerging global challenges and international cooperation.

The meeting focused on strengthening global partnerships, with particular emphasis on the governance of artificial intelligence and the need for collaborative approaches to address evolving technological challenges.

During the talks, the UN Secretary-General acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive role and appreciated its efforts to promote regional and global peace, stability, and international cooperation. The meeting reaffirmed the importance of collective action in shaping responsible and inclusive AI governance.
