Pakistan Army Warns of ‘Cataclysmic Devastation’ Over Indian Leaders’ Provocative Statements

ISPR condemns Indian defence establishment’s rhetoric as “delusional, provocative and jingoistic”; says Pakistan will respond “swiftly, decisively and destructively” if provoked

Rawalpindi, October 4, 2025 – Pakistan’s military has issued a strong warning to India over what it called “delusional, provocative and jingoistic statements” made by senior figures within the Indian security establishment, cautioning that any renewed conflict could lead to “cataclysmic devastation” in the region.

In a statement released on Saturday (No PR-308/2025-ISPR), the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the remarks coming from the Indian Defence Minister and the country’s Army and Air Chiefs were “irresponsible” and reflected “a renewed attempt at fabricating arbitrary pretexts for aggression” against Pakistan.

“These irresponsible statements indicate a renewed attempt at fabricating arbitrary pretexts for aggression, a prospect which might lead to serious consequences for peace and stability in South Asia,” the statement read.

The ISPR accused India of “playing the victim card” while “stoking violence and perpetrating terrorism” across the region, asserting that “the world now recognises India as the true face of cross-border terrorism and the epicentre of regional instability.”

The military’s media wing recalled that earlier this year, Indian “aggression” had brought the two nuclear-armed neighbours to the brink of war, but that India appeared to have “forgotten the wreckage of its fighter jets and the wrath of Pakistan’s long-range vectors.”

“Those seeking to establish a new normal must know that Pakistan has established a new normal of response swift, decisive and destructive,” ISPR warned, adding that the Pakistan Armed Forces were fully capable of “taking the fight to every nook and corner of the enemy’s territory.”

Responding to recent Indian assertions about “erasing Pakistan,” the statement cautioned that any such attempt would have mutual consequences:

“As for the talk of erasing Pakistan from the map, India must know that if situation comes, the erasure will be mutual,” it declared.

The ISPR statement came in the wake of heightened rhetoric from Indian officials, including the Defence Minister, who earlier this week made strong remarks about Pakistan while referencing recent military operations and border tensions.

Diplomatic observers say the latest exchange underscores a fresh escalation in public rhetoric between the two neighbours and underscores the urgent need for restraint and dialogue to prevent miscalculation between the nuclear-armed states.
