PIA to Resume Flights to United Kingdom This Month

LONDON – The Pakistan High Commission in London has announced that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will resume its flights to the United Kingdom this month, restoring a key air link for the Pakistani diaspora.

High Commissioner Dr. Mohammad Faisal expressed gratitude to the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for issuing the Foreign Aircraft Operating Permit (FOP) on Friday, the final requirement enabling commercial flight operations between Pakistan and the UK.

PIA had earlier secured the Third Country Operator (TCO) approval, clearing the airline to re-enter the UK market. In the first phase, flight operations will commence with services to Manchester, followed by Birmingham and London in subsequent phases.

The resumption of flights is expected to greatly benefit the more than 1.7 million strong Pakistani community residing in the UK, offering them convenient travel options to Pakistan.
