Pakistan, Indonesia Universities Sign MoU to Boost Agricultural Cooperation
JAKARTA/FAISALABAD – Ambassador of Pakistan to Indonesia, H.E. Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, facilitated the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) and Indonesia’s Institute Pertanian Bogor (IPB) University, aimed at strengthening academic collaboration, joint research, and faculty-student exchanges.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Ambassador Chaudhri underscored the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Indonesia, particularly in agriculture and commerce. He noted that agriculture contributes around 20 percent to Pakistan’s economy and 14 percent to Indonesia’s, highlighting immense potential for enhanced cooperation.
He further emphasized that the academic partnership between the two leading institutions would not only support innovation, food security, and sustainable growth but also deepen institutional linkages between Pakistan and Indonesia.
The MoU paves the way for knowledge-sharing, joint initiatives, and capacity-building in the agricultural sector. Officials from the Embassy of Indonesia in Islamabad also joined the ceremony virtually.
