OIC Conference Adopts Islamabad Declaration on Women’s Empowerment

Islamabad, July 14: The 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women concluded with the adoption of the Islamabad Ministerial Declaration, reaffirming the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s collective commitment to promoting the rights, dignity, and empowerment of women across member states.

Hosted by Pakistan’s Ministry of Human Rights, the conference brought together ministers and senior representatives from OIC countries to discuss measures for advancing women’s socio-economic and political participation. A major highlight of the event was the formal transfer of the chairmanship of the OIC Ministerial Conference on Women from Egypt to Pakistan, reflecting the country’s growing leadership role within the organisation
