Islamabad, July 10: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the United Nations’ central role in addressing global challenges and strengthening multilateral cooperation during a meeting with Macky Sall, a candidate for the position of United Nations Secretary-General, in Islamabad.

The Prime Minister underscored Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to multilateralism and expressed hope that the next UN leadership would effectively advance the organization’s three core pillars—peace and security, sustainable development, and human rights—in a balanced and inclusive manner.

Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s enduring commitment to the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, emphasizing the importance of implementing United Nations Security Council resolutions, upholding international law, and honoring international treaties as essential foundations for lasting global peace, security, and prosperity.
