Pakistan, Türkiye Pledge Stronger Maritime and Transport Partnership
Islamabad, July 3: Pakistan and Türkiye have agreed to further strengthen cooperation in the maritime and transport sectors, underscoring their shared commitment to boosting economic connectivity, developing modern infrastructure and promoting sustainable growth.
The understanding was reached during a meeting in Istanbul between Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, and Türkiye’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed the current state of bilateral cooperation and explored new avenues for collaboration in maritime affairs, transport infrastructure and logistics. The ministers emphasized the importance of closer coordination to deepen economic ties between the two friendly nations.
They agreed to enhance cooperation in the development of modern maritime infrastructure and transport systems to facilitate trade, improve regional connectivity and support long-term economic development.
The two ministers also discussed opportunities for sustainable development and mutual investment in the maritime and transport sectors. Expressing confidence in the growing partnership, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation in strategic areas and strengthening economic and commercial relations for shared regional prosperity.
