
Pakistan, Romania Strengthen Defence Cooperation: CJCSC General Sahir Shamshad Mirza Visits Bucharest
Bucharest / Islamabad — October 7, 2025:
At the invitation of General Gheorghiță Vlad, Chief of Defence Staff of Romania, Pakistan’s Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NIM, is on an official visit to Romania from October 5 to 9, 2025.
Upon arrival at the Romanian Ministry of Defence Headquarters, General Mirza was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour. He later held meetings with H.E. Mr. Liviu-Ionuț Moșteanu, Romania’s Minister of National Defence, and General Gheorghiță Vlad.
During the meetings, both sides discussed regional stability, defence collaboration, and military education, reaffirming their commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation in defence production and strategic dialogue.
General Mirza appreciated the professionalism of the Romanian Armed Forces and emphasized Pakistan’s desire to deepen military-to-military engagement. He also extended invitations on behalf of Pakistan’s leadership to Minister Moșteanu and General Vlad to visit Pakistan.
The visit underscores Pakistan’s growing defence diplomacy in Europe and highlights the mutual commitment to peace, security, and strategic partnership between the two friendly nations.
