Pakistan Embassy in the Netherlands Hosts Dialogue with Clingendael Researchers on Global Affairs

THE HAGUE — Ambassador Syed Haider Shah, along with his team, welcomed a group of researchers from the Clingendael Netherlands Institute of International Relations for an exchange of views on contemporary global and regional issues.

In his remarks, Ambassador Shah outlined Pakistan’s perspective on great power strategic competition and its implications for South Asia, as well as the emerging challenges confronting multilateralism. He emphasized the complexities of multipolarity, stressing the need for international cooperation, trust-building, fairness, and the supremacy of international law to address today’s pressing global challenges.

Mr. Ties Dams, Senior Research Fellow at Clingendael, together with his colleagues, shared insights on multipolar multilateralism and the opportunities and risks it entails. Mr. Dams also reflected on the power of narrative in geopolitics, highlighting its role in shaping global perceptions and policies.

The Embassy noted that this thought-provoking engagement forms part of its initiative to strengthen dialogue with prominent Dutch think tanks on contemporary international affairs.
