PIA to Resume Flights to United Kingdom This Month

LONDON – The Pakistan High Commission in London has confirmed that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will resume its flights to the United Kingdom this month. High Commissioner Dr. Mohammad Faisal thanked the UK Civil Aviation Authority for issuing the Foreign Aircraft Operating Permit (FOP), the final step for commercial flight operations. PIA had already obtained the Third Country Operator (TCO) approval, paving the way for its re-entry into the UK market. Initial flights will begin with services to Manchester, followed by Birmingham and London. The move restores a key travel option for over 1.7 million Pakistanis living in the UK.

The event showcased the positive impact of Adolescent-Friendly Spaces (AFS) in Hunza and Nagar, bringing together LSOs, mentors, parents, and youth. Participants highlighted improvements in communication, self-confidence, stress management, and leadership skills. Parents praised the initiative for building healthier lifestyles and boosting children’s confidence. Deputy Director Education Nagar, Mr. Latif Baig, commended AKRSP’s support, noting the establishment of 15 AFS and provision of ECD materials to 14 schools in Nagar.
