Japan Marks 71st Anniversary of Self-Defense Forces in Islamabad

Islamabad – The Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Akamatsu Shuichi, hosted a reception to commemorate the 71st anniversary of the Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF). The event was attended by dignitaries, diplomats, and defense officials, underscoring the strong and longstanding ties between Japan and Pakistan.

H.E. Mr. Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Federal Minister for Defense, graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his remarks, he highlighted the importance of Japan’s contributions to global peace, stability, and disaster relief efforts.

Colonel Abe Kazuo, Defense Attaché at the Embassy of Japan, represented the Japan Self-Defense Forces, reaffirming Japan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including peacekeeping, maritime security, and humanitarian assistance.

The evening provided an opportunity for fostering friendship and further enhancing defense and diplomatic collaboration between Japan and Pakistan.
