COAS Asim Munir Warns India: No Room for War in a Nuclear-Armed South Asia

COAS reiterates Pakistan’s unwavering support for Kashmir and Palestine, condemns Indian oppression and Israeli aggression.

KAKUL (Islamabad Today):
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir on Saturday issued a stern warning to India, asserting that there was “no space for war in a nuclearised environment,” while reaffirming Pakistan’s military readiness and recent operational success during the May 2025 conflict.

Speaking at the passing out parade at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) in Kakul, the army chief cautioned India’s military leadership against “misguided hegemonic ambitions” and “rhetoric of intimidation,” declaring that Pakistan would respond “decisively, beyond proportions, to even a minor provocation.”

“I advise and firmly caution India’s military leadership that there is no space for war in a nuclearised environment,”
Field Marshal Asim Munir, COAS

‘Victory in May Conflict’

Referring to Pakistan’s recent confrontation with India — following New Delhi’s “Operation Sindoor” in May — the COAS hailed Pakistan’s “clear victory” in “Operation Bunyanum Marsoos”, a four-day retaliatory campaign that he said “neutralised all threats with remarkable professionalism.”

Munir credited the “battle-hardened” Pakistan Army for defending the country “with unfailing resolve and pride,” noting that the recent operation “reaffirmed public confidence in the armed forces’ competence and far-reaching capabilities.”

He claimed that Pakistan had downed Indian Rafale fighter jets, targeted multiple S-400 sites, and demonstrated multi-domain warfare capabilities during the escalation — which was later de-escalated through a US-led ceasefire initiative.

‘Consequences Beyond Imagination’

In a stark message, the army chief warned that any new hostilities “will bear catastrophic consequences for the entire region.”

“Should a fresh wave of hostilities be triggered, Pakistan would respond much beyond the expectations of the initiators,” he warned.
“Our weapon systems will shatter the misconceived immunity of India’s geographic warspace.”

Message to Kabul: Choose Security Over Violence

Turning to Afghanistan, COAS Munir urged the Taliban regime to curb terror proxies operating from Afghan soil, reiterating Pakistan’s position that India sponsors terrorism inside the country through groups like Fitna al-Hind and Fitna al-Khawarij.

“Rest assured, like our victory in the conventional domain, every state proxy of our neighbour will be razed to dust, God-willing,” he vowed.

He called on the Afghan people to “choose mutual security over perpetual violence,” stressing that Pakistan “will never bow before misguided terrorists.”

Support for Palestine, Kashmir

COAS Munir also reaffirmed Pakistan’s diplomatic and moral support for the Kashmiri people’s struggle against “Indian occupation and atrocities,” vowing that “the oppression in occupied Kashmir will come to an end.”

Condemning Israel’s “blatant aggression and genocide” in Gaza, the field marshal said Pakistan remains committed to a two-state solution with Al Quds Sharif as the capital of a sovereign Palestinian state.

Pakistan: ‘Net Regional Stabiliser’

Highlighting Pakistan’s growing diplomatic influence, Munir said the country had “successfully emerged as a net regional stabiliser,” strengthening ties with major powers including China, the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Iran.

He praised the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement with Saudi Arabia as a “formalisation of Pakistan-Saudi brotherhood” and lauded US President Donald Trump’s “strategic leadership for peace.”

Economic Stability and Social Media Threats

The army chief also lauded the government’s “relentless efforts” toward economic recovery, saying positive indicators were attracting global investment.

He warned cadets and citizens about digital disinformation, urging critical thinking in the “post-truth era” where “half-truths spread faster than facts.”

‘Unbreakable Bond Between People and Armed Forces’

Concluding his address, COAS Munir reminded the cadets of their sacred duty to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty and unity.

“Our enemies are hell-bent upon driving a wedge between our people and the armed forces. Let me remind them — this bond is unshakable.”

He also congratulated graduating cadets from Malaysia, Nepal, Palestine, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Yemen, Mali, Maldives, and Nigeria, noting that their success symbolised “military cooperation and global camaraderie.”
